Emerging Markets Payments
("EMP"), a leading African and Middle Eastern payments company, today
announces the appointment of Tunde Coker as its Regional Head of West Africa.
"EMP's Bank Processing division
provides card personalization, card hosting, card processing and ATM and POS
driving services to 135 banks across the MENA region. 50 of these are in West
Africa, which highlights the importance of this appointment," said Hoda
Shoukry, EMP Bank Processing Division's CEO.
Tunde is the former Group Chief
Information Officer for Access Bank, one of Nigeria's leading banks. During his
tenure, Access Bank improved its ranking from number 11 to a top 4 bank. Tunde
was responsible for integrating Intercontinental Bank's systems with Access
Bank.
Prior to Access Bank, Tunde was Group IT
Director for the UK Ministry of Justice, Group Applications Director for BP
International and Director of Digital Services for Egg Bank in the UK.
"The West Africa region has the
potential to be one of the fastest growing regions in the world for electronic
payments given the current low penetration of formal financial services,"
stated Hoda Shoukry.
