Nokia has launched its 808 PureView in Nigeria.

Nokia has launched its 808 PureView in Nigeria. 
The device will push the frontiers of mobile device functionality to a new level. The 41 mega pixel lens is set to give consumers an exciting new experience when it comes to digital photography on a mobile phone. 
Speaking at the launch event, the General Manager, Nokia-West Africa, Mr Chris Brown said the Nokia 808 boast of the highest resolution sensor of any mobile phone camera in the history of mobile devices. He said, ‘the device has the highest resolution sensor of any current camera of any highly specialized media format equipment.’ He added that although the camera has a powerful imaging experience, consumers can also look forward to other exciting features which would give them a well-rounded user experience with the phone.
Celebrity photographer, Kelechi Amadi-Obi described the device as ‘a photographer’s delight’. In a photo presentation delivered by him at the launch event, he stated that the Nokia 808 PureView is a combination of a high quality optic with incredible Image censor coupled with professional image control in your pocket. Kelechi Amadi showcased an array of amazing photographs taken by the Nokia 808. Participants were amazed at the quality of the photographs and the depth of detail.
Other features of the phone include a 4.1 inch Amoled display Clear-back for better viewing experience under direct sunlight and a corning Gorilla Glass on top. The display is a captivating touch screen with 16:9 nHD 640 by 360 pixels resolution and renders in over 16 million colours. The device also supports NFC which enables one to easily share contents like photos and videos with other compatible devices by simply touching them together.
The Nokia 808 also comes with a 1.3GHz processor, 512MB RAM and a separate 128MB graphics memory and hardware graphics accelerator in order to handle the high capacity graphics. It also comes with the latest in browser and network technology with a quadband GSM and five band WCDMA (3G) with high-speed data on HSPA+/WCDMA (Up to 14.4mbps HSDPA) plus GPRS/EDGE on GSM networks. It also supports Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n for connecting over WLAN networks, Bluetooth 3.0 and USB 2.0.
The Nokia 808 PureView was announced at the Mobile World Congress on 17th February, 2012. It won the award for the "Best New Mobile Handset, Device or Tablet" as well as the award for Best Imaging Innovation for 2012 from the Technical Image Press Association.
